Back in the Berra

September 26, 2002

I’m now back in Canberra after four sunny days in Gladstone. Congratulations to Reuben and Trish who were married on Sunday afternoon. The schmiddy.org production crew would like to thank Qantas, The Plaza International Hotel, XXXX bitter, Cactus Jacks and the Meteor Sports Club for making the whole weekend possible. Photos taken on the weekend will be posted soon.

In Transit

September 20, 2002

I’m currently at Brisbane airport on my way to Gladstone for a few days for a wedding. I can’t belive how much warmer it is up here compared to Canberra! I’ll post some photos of my adventures when I return. In the meantime, here is an interesting link that I was sent the other day metacritic. Instead of having to go to different sites to read reviews for movies, music or games, this site has it all.

Satisfied Customer

September 12, 2002

Another satisifed customer:

“Before I logged on to www.schmiddy.org I was a 90 pound weakling with sinus
problems who always got sand kicked in my face. Since logging on to
www.schmiddy.org I have a body like Arnie, my nasal drip has cleared up and
I am a big hit with all the chicks. I am a week away from earning my second
$ million.
Thanks www.schmiddy.org , you’ve changed my life.”

Rubicon

September 11, 2002

On Saturday I had an action packed day (despite my hangover from Friday night). In the afternoon I climbed Mt Ainslie, a very popular lookout in Canberra situated not far from where I live.

That night Sharon and I went to dinner at Rubicon. Probably the best restaurant I have been to in Canberra so far.

Feedback

September 5, 2002

Thought I would share with you some of the interesting feedback I have recieved after just one day (these are real and unedited comments):

“You should be very proud. It is a great site and it is my new home page. I eagerly await new and exciting developments.”

“And how long did that take you?”

“Schmiddy?”

“I’m hooked now. I am working on my own site which preaches that you are the new prophet, and that your word is law.”

“Very nice.”

“Where’s all the crackz, hackz, warez and pr0n you’ve been promising us all along Matty? Not very 1337 at all.”

“Like he’s the only smith on the internet…”

“I thought he was?”

“…the rest are just cheap imitations.”

“Its undoubtably the best website I have ever seen. I will recommend it for every internet award. you will soon be famous!”

“The only thing missing is the resume, and family snaps.”

First Post

September 3, 2002

For the first log entry on my website, I thought I would post something humourous to bring the crowds in. So I went searching back through my archives of emails and this is the best (and cleanest) I could do at short notice:
