Well, I finally bit the bullet and bought a snowboard. Sharon and I headed up to Blue Mountain yesterday and I took it for a test run. It is an awesome board! I would have done this years ago if I had of known how much easier it would be riding a decent board.

New Snowboard
January 24, 2005The Life Aquatic
January 17, 2005How cool is this movie! I just love the underwater special effects and I thought the set they used for the boat was really cool. So many people are doing the obvious “but is it better than The Royal Tanenbaums” comparisons, but I think they are totally different movies. Perhaps I am a sucker for an underwater adventure with a couple of great Aussie actors in the cast, but I thought it was excellent. Willem Defoe was very funny. Where can I get Zissou Adidas? 4/5
Christmas in Germany
January 17, 2005Well, Sharon and I had a great time over in Germany. Thanks to Dom and Karina for organising our accomodation in Berlin and hanging out with us. Berlin is a place that’s steeped in history (some of it not so nice) so there are lots of interesting things to go and see. This photo album contains all the photos from the trip:

Sharon has gone to a lot of effort to type captions for each of photo and they give you more details on all the cool things we did! We also managed to visit Dresden and Prague.
The Aviator
January 10, 2005Scorsese has released another 3 hour epic. I thought the screenplay was good in the fact that it didn’t try and encompass the whole of Howard Hugh’s life. I also thought the sets and supporting cast were high quality, and despite the length of the film, I didn’t find myself looking at my watch too often. The main problem I have with this movie is the casting of Leo in the leading role – I thought it was a tad unbelieveable. 3/5
